The Inter-Faith Activity and Partnership for Peace (IFAPP) is involved in capacity building for selected Nigerian inter-faith dialogue facilitators in collaboration with Perspectivity, a non-for-profit organization based in the Netherlands. Focussed on ‘Common Cause for Improved Inter-Faith Relations’, the training which will be in three segments, is taking place in the training room of the Lux Terra Leadership Foundation office complex, Villa Nova Estate, Abuja. The first segment of the training holds from September 23-26, 2013 while the second and third segment will be in November 2013 and January 2014. In attendance are trainers from Islamic Education Trust, Minna, Lux Terra Leadership Foundation, Abuja, Inter-faith Mediation Centre, Kaduna, Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators, Abuja, Dialogue, Reconciliation and Peace Centre, Jos, and members of IFAPP.
At the end of this first training course, participants would have acquired an enhanced understanding of the complexity of factors which lead to interfaith conflicts, improved knowledge and skills in conflict management and resolution, more information and understanding about people of other faith traditions, and would be better able to communicate without prejudice with people from other faith traditions.
